Moodboard base on organic forms
HOW?
After knowing and understanding my persona, I went on to sketch my ideas base on my moodboard. Doing a total of 30 sketches base on organic forms for mobile phone holder, smartwatch holder, sunglasses holder, book holder and medicine box. Reason why I chosen organic form is because I really like how organic forms gives off a very gentle and pleasing vibe and feeling. I wanted to bring that kind of feeling and vibe for my user and it suits my persona.

After doing the sketches i select a few from the 30 to improve on the form and form different concepts so that the product would look like they are a theme. Having that in mind I make sure that during my concept sketches, each of the groups have a unique form that will establish and be able to tell apart from each other. Even if I were to mix all 3 concepts together it would still be distinct that which product belongs with each other. I sketch my concept base on my moodboard image. I also narrow down my holders to 3 of it which is mobile phone holder, book holder and smartwatch holder. For my mobile phone holder, I have a secondary function to allow user to store their mobile phone accessories and allowing user to place their phone upright even when charging. This function is being spread across all three concepts.

An additional concept 4 that I came up with. I fused the mobile phone holder with the smartwatch holder into one. I then have a sunglasses holder for the third product which I selected a design from my previous ideation sketch and refine it. Book holder is able to adjust by pulling out to desired sizing for user to place her books. Mobile phone and smartwatch holder allows user to store mobile phone accessories, place phone upright even during charging and allow charging of smartwatch. From this concept i then brunch out to 3 different families.

Each individual family are sketch in a way I fused my earlier concepts with each other by putting bits and pieces together making sure that I still stick to my moodboad. I wanted a more simple and clean organic form while still having a unique style. Each family are also sketch base on individual photos on my moodboard. I then work on a low-fidelity mockup of each family with clay and cardboard. I went through testing with the objects and found out a few flaws. I needed to work on the individual areas on each mockup in each family with those improvement in minds. After noting down the areas of improvement I went on to work on the next iteration of sketches and low-fidelity mockups.

Iteration sketch and low-fidelity mockup done base on previous sketches and mockup. Improvement are being applied onto this iteration with an additional secondary material in consideration. From this 3 family I then selected the sunglasses holder and book holder in family 1 with adjustments to the book holder. As for my mobile phone and smartwatch holder I will be fusing Family 2 and 3 together.
